Prohibition
The prohibition in the 1920’s was to stop people from drinking on the job and driving drunk, but ended up in Americans breaking the law by drinking even more. The prohibition led to people sneaking alcohol past police and drinking in private. People who snuck alcohol were named Bootleggers. Bootleggers hid alcohol in their boots to hide from the police. Speakeasies were bars that served alcohol by having people order in code names such as Firewater, White Lightning, and Tanglefoot. Al Capone was in charge of illegally making and distributing alcohol. Al Capone was a gang leader that would make a profit off of distributing alcohol.
